OUR CSR ENGINE IS RUNNING AT FULL POWER DURING AND AFTER LOCKDOWN

  • 245 VEHICLES LOANED FREE OF CHARGE
  • 91,000 MASKS DONATED
  • 191,000 EUROS IN DONATIONS

We are one of the international specialists in vehicle leasing and new mobility solutions, and a carbon-neutral business, constantly reaffirming our commitment to CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) through concrete actions taken at the heart of our business. It is therefore completely natural that, in the context of the Covid-19 health crisis, we have launched numerous initiatives to protect our employees, clients and drivers, but also to participate in collective efforts to support people on the front line in the battle against the virus. To respond to the needs of our customers, at the end of May 2020 we launched a new bespoke multimodal mobility proposal called “The Journey Goes On”.

Initiatives to weather the crisis

Aligned with the BNP Paribas Group, which has announced an aid package worth €50 million, we have increased the number of charitable initiatives both on a global level as well as in each country. All employees have taken action to call partner associations, clients and hospitals to find out what they need in terms of vehicles and to support people out in the field. In the twelve countries in which we have a presence, 245 vehicles have been loaned free of charge for a period of three to six months, insurance included, to hospitals and charities, and nearly 100,000 masks and €191,000 have been donated to the Red Cross and hospitals.

Initiatives to improve the lifting of lockdown: more human, greater mobility

We have used our expertise and all of our services to support our employees and customers to better handle the lifting of lockdown.

The health crisis has profoundly affected needs and uses in terms of mobility. It has strengthened our firm belief in multimodal and responsible mobility. Indeed, the current economic shock mustn’t distract us from our long-term environmental duty, the only way to ensure our future health. The commitment and collective effort of Arval’s employees in serving our customers faced with these new challenges further proves that CSR is neither an option nor a duty, but that it is an integral part of Arval’s DNA,” said Alain Van Groenendael, Chairman and CEO of Arval.

The Journey Goes On

As soon as the COVID-19 crisis started, we took the necessary measures to help our customers and drivers face its impact. Now that the lockdown measures have been lifted in many of Arval’s countries, new accelerating trends are being observed in terms of mobility: higher expectations in terms of disinfection and protection, widespread teleworking, massive use of door-to-door delivery services, and the need for alternative mobility solutions.
