A French car sharing solution adapted to the chinese market

BA-SHI, Arval’s partner in China since the creation of the Joint Venture Arval Jiutong in 2015, resorted to Arval France‘s expertise to propose the Chinese government a car sharing solution. The Chinese authorities are planning to turn the south district of Shanghai, called Lingang, into a Green Zone, together with a restriction on combustion vehicles’ traffic. To meet this demand, BA-SHI decided to propose the Arval France car sharing solution and adjusted it to the local requirements.

BA-SHI launches a first successful pilot in April 2015. In March 2016, 30 Chinese Electric vehicles Roewe e50 and 5 Hybrid Roewe 550 are implemented in the District of Shanghai. At first, the car sharing offer, called U-LIN CarSharing, will address the private lease market, then it will move on to be implemented in BtoB within companies through Arval Jiutong. It will be supported by the E-payment service Alipay.

The growing roads congestion and the significant level of pollution in Chinese cities provide a favorable environment to car sharing solutions. With this deal, Arval proved the flexibility of its car sharing offer worldwide.
