Eco driving - Environment and security
Some fields are mandatory
The ecodriving programme involves a different approach to driving which focuses on efficient use of the vehicle. Over the years, car technology has improved considerably and as a result, drivers need to develop a new driving style.
Why sustainability impact directly your mobility?
- Criticisms on the car multiply:
- Air pollution
- Climate warming
- Consumption of a non recoverable resource (oil)
- Noises pollution
- etc ..
- The government imposes increasingly strict regulations towards the impact negative of the car on the environment.
- The increase of the fuel price: To master its consumption becomes an essential stake for everybody who seek to control his travelling costs. (remind : fuel represent 25% to 30% of the fleet TCO)
- Professional travelling is a corporate risk with a disaster cost and a human and materials issues.
To face up to the ecological and climatic risks, the transport sector must deeply change. Our ambition is to propose an offer to the Operational Leasing integrating the challenges of sustainable development.
For these reasons Arval built a innovating sustainable commercial offer integrating new services permitted by the technological innovations and the new regulations:
- Support for the best cars choice in terms of pollution and security criteria
- Support for fuel policy with an objective to reduce fuel consumption
- Maintenance plan and program optimised for a best maintenance car statement
- Organisation of various driving style training course in collaboration with a number of suppliers.
These courses teach the driver how to drive according to various principles such as: economic drive - respect of the environment - preserve the security of the passengers an of the driver. In order to keep drivers’ knowledge at the ready, Arval also organises refresher courses. The course programme can be expanded with a driving proficiency training that prepares drivers for unforeseen traffic situations. We use also driving simulators.
Arval will monitor the results of the training and provide the driver with feedback. This will enable the driver to see at a glance which environmental saving has been achieved and what his or her contribution has been to the reduction of CO2 emissions.
Your Advantages:
- A vehicle better maintained and better used
- Decrease the fuel consumption
- Reduce the Co2 emission
- Decrease the disaster ratio
- A better fines setting
- Test of acquired knowledge - immediate analyzes of impacts of different driving behaviour mode.
- A training which not necessitate your collaborators travelling
- A training allowing to adjust the driving situation to the real conditions of your collaborator
Your Benefits:
- Decreasing the fuel and maintenance cost
- Preserve the environment
- Relatives to disasters, you reduce the direct costs (reparations) and indirect costs (administration and time) - Reducing the fines costs
- Improve the techniques of driving knowledge (theory and practical)
Remind that:
- A flexible driving attitude allows to save in fuel of up to 40% and to limit Co2 emission and of atmospheric pollutants:
- A flexible driving in town allows to save in fuel of up to 40%
- A low engine regime use allows to save in fuel of up to 30%
- The speed limit respect allows to reduce in co2 emission of up to 3.5%
- Do not use air-conditioning function allows to save in fuel of up to 30% in town
- Weak up-pressure tyres reduce up to 3% the fuel consumption
It's easy to forget about Eco-driving attitude. For this reason the commitment of the corporate is key."
