Arval Main Sponsor of the EcoTour of Europe 2008

The EcoTour is a 7-day-tour through 9 European countries, starting on September 12th in Barcelona (Spain).  Organised by the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile) and sponsored by ARVAL, leading provider of operational-leasing, vehicle-fleet and fuel management solutions, the objective of this competition is for each team to drive its vehicle to the final destination, The Hague (Netherlands), as economically as possible, i.e. by using up as little fuel as possible. The EcoTour awards the most fuel efficient cars and driving behaviours. 

From Barcelona to The Hague
42 teams of two drivers, each driving one of the 42 fuel efficient cars (all provided and serviced by ARVAL) in six different segments will take part in the competition that leads the drivers from Spain through France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Germany, Luxembourg and Belgium. The finishing line will be passed on September 19th in The Hague, Netherlands. Among the drivers are FIA and local club members, journalists and international sponsors. The cars allocated to each team and driver will change on a daily basis so as to allow each team to drive cars in all segments. At the closing event of each leg, the winner of the day will be announced. The EcoTour will generate six winning teams and six winning cars.
