EcoTour 2008 – Arval draws attention to fuel efficient cars and driving behaviours
ARVAL, main sponsor of the EcoTour of Europe 2008, draws attention to the benefits of using fuel efficient cars and changing driving behaviour, reducing environmental pollution and enhancing road safety.

The 7-day-tour started on September 12th in Barcelona (Spain) and led the competing cars and drivers through nine European countries: Spain, France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium and The Netherlands, awarding the most fuel efficient cars and driving behaviours.

The EcoTour took place during the seventh edition of the annual “European Mobility Week”, the most widespread event on sustainable mobility.

ARVAL commits to EcoDriving
Arval itself participated actively in the EcoTour with a total of five Arval teams, winning the palm on two legs in the categories small family petrol and family diesel.
The EcoTour allowed Arval to put into practice its commitment to EcoDriving and to draw attention to the benefits of using fuel efficient cars and changing driving behaviour, reducing environmental pollution and enhancing road safety. An objective gaining ground in professional fleets.
With its 628,000 professional vehicles and being as such one of the key stakeholders in sustainability, Arval has gathered a vast experience in the analysis and optimization of the environmental footprint of these vehicles, long before sustainability became a prevailing topic. To achieve these objectives, services provided by ARVAL offer excellent possibilities to reduce environmental pollution and, as one of the direct benefits, save fuel costs.
